Stay in the Present
- January 16, 2008
If you have ever been in a close competition coming down the stretch, whether it be a professional event or a $2 nassau with your drinking buddies, you may have found your mind wandering into the realm of what if. Just like your golf swing, your ability to stay in the present is something that must be practiced to improve upon.
You can practice staying in the present both on and off the golf course. Whenever you start thinking about what could be, force yourself to think about what will be and make it happen.
It is the ability to take control of your own destiny, rather than hope for it, that will allow you to focus on the task at hand. In other words, rather than think about it happening or having happened, think about doing it, each step of the way.
